The founder

Filippo Marchino is the founder and lead trial attorney of The X-Law Group — a catastrophic injury specialist whose technical mastery is rooted in something rare among attorneys: Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Aerospace Engineering. That scientific foundation, combined with an extraordinary legal record, is what allows X-Law to take on the most complex, technically demanding cases in personal injury law and win. Away from the law, he serves as a Judge on the FIA International Court of Appeals in Paris — the governing body overseeing Formula 1 — bringing the same precision and analytical rigor to the world's most technically demanding motorsport. He is also a decorated competitive athlete: an 8-time U.S. National USASA Alpine Snowboarding champion turned competitive WRC rally driver, with numerous World Rally Championship starts, most recently leveraging that platform to raise funds and awareness for victims of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. A Board Member of the One Drop Foundation, Filippo is as driven by the pursuit of justice off the stage as he is on it.

Attorney

Litigation & Trial

Filippo Marchino is a dual Italian-American national, fluent in Italian, English, and French, and one of the most accomplished catastrophic injury and class action trial attorneys in the country. His record speaks for itself: a $454 million verdict in a complex consumer class action (2017), a $79 million preliminary approved settlement against Delta Airlines on behalf of 38,000 affected households in southeast Los Angeles, a $60.38 million judgment arising from the 2013 Venice Boardwalk tragedy, and a $21 million verdict for the loss of a husband in a solo vehicle accident. He has secured multiple additional class action settlements exceeding $57 million — including the Power Balance litigation — and recovered millions more for individual clients, among them a $20 million settlement for a solo car accident injury and multiple eight-figure results in wrongful death and complex injury matters. Filippo's practice is built around the cases that demand the most: technically complex, multi-defendant, high-value litigation where preparation, precision, and genuine expertise separate an adequate outcome from an extraordinary one.

Philanthropist

One Drop Foundation

The son of two doctors, Filippo grew up with an intimate understanding of human suffering and what it means to dedicate your life to helping others. That upbringing shaped not just the attorney he became, but the person he is — someone who sees the human cost behind every case and approaches each client with genuine empathy as well as fierce advocacy. Outside the courtroom, he serves as a Board Member of the One Drop Foundation, a global organization dedicated to bringing sustainable access to safe water and sanitation to the world's most vulnerable communities. He approaches this work with the same rigor and commitment he brings to his clients, believing that having a platform — whether legal, personal, or public — carries with it a responsibility to use it in service of others.

Today, Filippo is a competitive FIA World Rally Championship driver with numerous WRC starts, competing at the highest level of a sport that demands extraordinary precision, technical skill, and composure under pressure. He has long used his motorsport platform as a vehicle for good — running cars in the colors of the One Drop Foundation for years — but most recently turned his focus to Jamaica, after Hurricane Melissa devastated the island with 185mph winds, destroying homes, hospitals, and critical infrastructure. For the Monte Carlo Rally, Filippo raced the team’s Citroën C3 Rally2 in a full Jamaican livery and launched a fundraising campaign in partnership with Jamaica's motorsport federation, auctioning his race suit to raise funds for those affected. His motivation was simple: "We have a platform — why not help?"

WRC Competitor & Snowboarder

Athlete

Before he was a trial attorney, Filippo earned a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering — a foundation that sets him apart from virtually every other personal injury lawyer in the country and underpins everything The X-Law Group does. That scientific training gives him the ability to read, interpret, and challenge the kind of complex technical evidence — flight data, engineering specifications, failure analysis — that determines the outcome of the firm's most demanding cases. It is also what drew him to the role of Judge on the FIA International Court of Appeals, where the same analytical precision required in the courtroom is applied to the most technically sophisticated motorsport competitions, including Formula 1, in the world. The combination of legal expertise and genuine engineering mastery is not a marketing claim at X-Law — it is the foundation the firm was built on.
