Join the team

The X-Law Group is not a typical law firm, so we're not looking for typical people. We handle a small number of high-stakes, technically complex cases with a level of depth and personal attention that larger firms simply cannot offer. That means every member of our team carries real weight, and every contribution matters.

Exceptional cases demand exceptional people.

Every hire is different — because every case is. Browse our current openings below and see where you might fit. And if you don't see a role that lines up perfectly, don't let that stop you — click "I Want to Join" and tell us why you belong here.

Junior Associates - Complex Civil Litigation

  • We are seeking two exceptional Junior Associates to join our growing team. One for our South Pasadena office, and one for our new Long Beach location.

  • The roles offer you unparalleled exposure to every phase of complex civil litigation, from initial investigation through trial, handling cases with millions at stake. You'll work directly with our senior attorneys and the founder on technically complex matters requiring both legal excellence and the ability to learn engineering details.

    • Drafting and potentially arguing discovery motions in state and federal court

    • Assisting in the preparation and depositions of fact witnesses and experts

    • Managing document-intensive discovery in cases involving complex engineering or product liability failures

    • Collaborating with technical experts on accident reconstruction and failure analysis

    • Preparing comprehensive case analyses involving regulatory compliance and industry standards

    • Contributing to trial preparation and strategy in high-stakes litigation

    • Interfacing directly with catastrophically injured clients and their families

    • A J.D. from an accredited law school, along with a strong academic record (top 25% preferred)

    • Being admitted to practice law in either: California, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Colorado, Washington State, Florida, Texas, or Illinois. Those pending with expected admission within 60 days will also be considered.

    • Exceptional legal research and writing skills with meticulous attention to detail

    • Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments

    • A self-starter mentality with the ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously

    • A genuine passion for plaintiff-side advocacy and holding corporations accountable

  • Yes! We value candidates with one to three years of litigation experience, ideally in personal injury, products liability, or complex civil litigation, and admission to federal court is required. A technical undergraduate background — engineering, physics, or the hard sciences — is a significant advantage, as is hands-on experience with aviation, automotive, or product defect cases. Class action experience is a plus. Beyond credentials, we look for people who are genuinely comfortable working through complex technical documents and engineering specifications, and proficiency in a second language is always welcome

  • In one word? Mentality.

We look for people who are genuinely curious about how things work — and why they fail. The ability to translate that technical understanding into compelling arguments for judges and juries is essential, as is the discipline to maintain uncompromising attention to detail without ever losing sight of the bigger strategic picture. Above all, we want people who take real ownership of their cases, see them through to resolution, and are driven by a genuine commitment to achieving justice for clients facing the most difficult circumstances of their lives

  • We offer a competitive base salary commensurate with experience, complemented by a generous performance-based bonus structure that rewards the quality of work we expect from everyone on our team.

Benefits include health insurance contributions and full support for continuing legal education — because we invest in the people who invest in our clients.

For the right candidate, X-Law offers something beyond compensation: a clear career advancement track for exceptional performers, and the opportunity to work on landmark cases that genuinely shape safety standards and leave a lasting mark.
